Equilitas Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation based in the Netherlands. The foundation was established to support responsible and sustainable development initiatives by strengthening cooperation between local organisations, international partners and institutional donors.

Our aim is to help community-led initiatives grow sustainably by providing transparent governance, responsible financial oversight and structured project support.

By strengthening governance structures, financial transparency and international cooperation, we help local initiatives operate responsibly and create long-term positive impact.

 

How We Work

Equilitas works with trusted local partners who implement initiatives within their own communities. These organisations bring local knowledge, cultural understanding and direct engagement with beneficiaries.

Our role is to support these initiatives through structured project governance, transparent financial management and responsible reporting. By combining local knowledge with strong organisational frameworks, we aim to ensure that projects deliver sustainable results.

Ewald Pierre

Chair and Founder

As Chair of the Board and founder of Equilitas Foundation, Ewald Pierre provides strategic direction for the organisation. He is committed to strengthening responsible governance and building partnerships that support sustainable, community-led initiatives. 

Roel Folrkersma

Secretary and Founder

Serving as Secretary of the Board, Roel Folkersma supports the foundation’s governance, documentation and organisational development. As a co-founder, he contributes to the long-term structure and vision of Equilitas Foundation.

Thijs Smit

Treasurer

Thijs Smit serves as Treasurer of the foundation and oversees financial governance and responsible financial management. He ensures that the foundation operates with transparency and accountability.

Anneke Steinmann

Board Member and Founder

Anneke Steinmann is a founding board member of Equilitas Foundation. She is affiliated with the organisation CRS, which collaborates with the foundation in the development and implementation of community-based initiatives.

To ensure transparency and responsible governance, partnerships between Equilitas Foundation and organisations affiliated with board members are subject to the foundation’s governance and conflict-of-interest policies.

Attila TĂłth

Board Member

Attila TĂłth serves as a board member of Equilitas Foundation. He is affiliated with the organisation Teleios, which collaborates with the foundation in the development and implementation of community-based initiatives.

To ensure transparency and responsible governance, partnerships between Equilitas Foundation and organisations affiliated with board members are subject to the foundation’s governance and conflict-of-interest policies.
